Working Life at Rettie & Co

I am often asked what it is I like about working at Rettie and why.

In all honesty it is not one thing, it is a combination of a few things for me.

It is a well-known and aspirational brand, however, it has kept the family element at its core, even given the growth of the business into new areas over the last few years.

The people in the organisation are what makes it a great place to work; from my line manager to those I line manage and the wider lettings teams. We work in a fast faced environment; unpredictable and often unappreciated space with it being lettings. No two days are the same and I can honestly say that, and witness it on a daily basis. That said, the team is what makes it enjoyable. There is always someone ready to step in and lend a helping hand. It takes a certain type of person to work in lettings; resilient…and resilience is at our core in lettings. I am pleased to say that I work with an amazing team of people who really care about each other, and their landlords and tenants.

Karen Turner, Director of Lettings at Rettie

Rettie really appreciate length of service and to say thank you, increase holiday entitlement by one day, every year, until five years. On top of our seven days of BH entitlement, that comes out as 38 days holiday to spend time doing the things you love, outside of property!

We offer a comprehensive range of health cover both traditional private medical insurance and daily health cover to support with those costs that crop up from time to time, like dentist trips or new glasses.

We are continually working on improving our employee experience, ensuring Rettie is a great place to work. Recently the business has created a career progression pathway framework to enable staff to see where their future career could go and what it takes to get there. This visual aid is a very powerful tool to help focus on key areas, and allow staff to see the potential and longevity of a career at Rettie.
